Save Acadia Pool - Call to Action

March 23, 2025

Good day, Crusader families,

As many of you are aware, Acadia University recently announced that the pool will be closed after the end of the swim season. This unfortunate news highlights the ongoing challenges faced by aquatic facilities in Nova Scotia. The newly formed Save Acadia Pool group has been actively campaigning and lobbying to keep the pool open. All HRM clubs have supported their initiatives through letter-writing campaigns, petitions, social media posts, and other means.

With an upcoming election, it is important to maintain momentum and keep this issue in the public eye. MP Kody Blois, the representative for the Kings-Hants region, was recently named Minister of Agriculture, Agri-Food, and Rural Economic Development. The third component of his title is particularly relevant to our campaign to save the pool, and we believe now is an opportune time to apply additional pressure.

We kindly request that our swim families, along with their extended families in the region, continue to voice their support for the Tritons and Acadia swim teams.

Here is a link to a template letter addressed to MP Blois, which can be signed and sent/emailed to his office.
