Reminder About the Process of Declaring for Meets:

Good day, Crusader families.

It is hard to believe, but we are into the final push to the end of the season! We have a very
busy meet schedule coming up, so we wanted to send a quick reminder about the process of
declaring for meets.

Your swimmer’s coach sends a note asking you “declare” whether your swimmer will be
attending the meet and for which sessions (if there are multiple days/sessions).

Tip: It is important to select all days/sessions that your swimmer will be attending. The
meet registration tool only populates events for those days you have selected. i.e.the
coach only has the option of selecting events for those sessions – any events for
sessions your swimmer is not attending do not show up as an option. You can also leave
a “note” with any pertinent information you wish the coaches to see.

Once the coach has selected the events, they are available to be viewed through the Crusaders
website once you login. As an example, AA Champ events are now available for swimmers
who have declared for the meet.

Tip: You do not have to wait for your coach to email the events, psych sheets, or meet
details which arrive just a few days before the meet. These are posted by Swim Nova
Scotia to their website the week of the event.

If you have questions or need to make changes, they must be done in advance. Once the
“scratch date” has passed no changes can be made – they have been submitted to the
meet organizers and are final.

A great resource if you have any questions about the dates/deadlines or meet formats is
to read the meet package. The most up to date information will always be found on the
Swim Canada website (Swimming Canada ---> Events ---> Results ---> Events ---> upcoming
meets ---> filter and select the relevant meet) or the Crusaders Website (Select event,
scroll to meet info, select meet package)

Remember that your coach has a training development plan tailored to your swimmer – there is
a reason why events are selected in the way they are. If you have any questions, they can be
brought to your swimmer’s coach. They will be more than happy to share their plan.
