Call for volunteers! Fundraising Chair and Meet Hospitality Coordinator
Hello all,
We have several volunteer positions available that we are looking to fill this season.
Our organization runs smoothly because of the efforts of all our volunteers – from individuals supporting our canteens during meets, to equipment orders, fundraisers, to administration, officials training, etc. We have been extremely fortunate to have so many of our families step forward to help – that is one of the core values of being a Crusader.
Here are some of the roles we are currently seeking to fill:
1. Director of Fundraising
The Director of Fundraising is a voting Board position responsible for developing and overseeing fundraising activities.
Core Responsibilities
- Fundraising Strategy: Develop the annual club fundraising plan and present it to the Board for approval (this is typically done collaboratively).
- Oversight and Guidance: Oversee all fundraising initiatives, serving as the central guide and contact for individuals running independent events (such as the Sobeys Gift Card and Citrus fundraiser events).
- Committee Leadership:
- Chair a Fundraising Committee and lead its efforts.
- Oversee all fundraising coordinators, recruiting individuals for specific events and liaising between them and the Board.
- Time Commitment: The time commitment is flexible and scalable based on the structure established by the Director. The role is designed to delegate event execution, minimizing the Director's day-to-day commitment through the use of dedicated event coordinators.
- Meetings: Attend the monthly Board meeting, held on the 2nd Wednesday of each month. These meetings are a mix of in person and remote format.
- Support: The Director will have the support of the Board in both developing the plan and recruiting members for the Fundraising Committee.
2. Meet Hospitality Coordinator
This season, DCSC will be hosting two meets (January – NovaTech #3 and April – Age Group Development #5). The Hospitality Coordinator will oversee the donating and purchasing of food for the canteen and meet hospitality for these two meets (providing officials with snacks/light meals while they are on deck at meets). They will work to ensure that there are sufficient volunteers to run the canteen and arrange meals/snacks. The Hospitality Coordinator will also help with team building events as they occur throughout the season.
If you’re interested and enthusiastic about taking on one of these roles—or any other volunteer opportunities—we’d love to hear from you! These positions come with assigned volunteer points, which will count toward your volunteer commitment for the season.
